Positive self talk is one of the most powerful sources of energy, creativity, and momentum you can find. Start consciously replacing negative talk with positive phrases.
It's been estimated that we think about 60,000 discreet thoughts every day, but most of them are unconscious and instinctive.
The habits of our mind lead us down repeated pathways in response to our external environment and circumstances. If those pathways are positive and empowering then we're able to bring creativity, energy, and focus to our pursuits. But if those pathways are negative – full of fear, self-doubt, guilt, and shame – then we find ourselves repeatedly defeated before we even begin. Mastering your self talk is a huge key to greater success and happiness.
We all have dreams we'd love to fulfill, goals we'd like to pursue, and things we'd like to develop more of in ourselves. Negative self talk is like a mud pit that slows us down or traps us completely just when we start to move towards those things. If your thought life has gotten a little too swampy lately, it's time to dig in and do the work to forge new paths and lay down new road that will help sustain and propel you towards your best life.
